Oh, for Jesus. i can't get the damnable thing to load here. Just follow this link for a taste of the glory days of Raceway advertising. Lakeland Intl Raceway spot.

I've tried to post it here, but have had the same results as the fellow driving the BLue Max Mustang.
Be there!
Each week that we went to Lakeland we would buy another patch. STP, Thrush mufflers, Baby Moons and others were carefully stitched onto my red windbreaker with the two vertical race stripes. Wearing the windbreaker each week told other spectators that this kid was a 'regular' and knew the ins and outs of the track.I lived in the 'pits' and became friends with Gene Snow and other top racers of the day. I even rode the chase truck down the track with the crew of Gene Snow and when we got back to the pits I was shown how to and did pack Genes drag chute. That was the height of my 'career' as a drag rat at the track. All these military guys were watching me like I was actually part of the crew. Great days.
