The long way home...

After 50-55 hours of work, sometimes I find myself getting alittle tired. I'm 52 and should take better care of myself, but I don't. After work I get in the truck and start for home with the radio on a "classic rock" station. Today, Supertramp was playing and I began to remember every line of 'The Long Way Home'. The tune is sad really, this guy is just figuring out that he's a joke and all that kindda shit. Back in the day, I could relate to this song as I would buy a six-pack and drive around for an hour or so before going home. Today, I know what I want and I'm working hard to make it all happen and it's a bit trying at times. But, I don't feel the need to take the "long way home" as it were. I just want to get home, and that's a good thing. Peace.

  1. My brother, you already took the long way home. You're there now. Some of us just takes longer to get there than others.

No I have imparted that wisdom, I'm going to sit on the patio with a glass of single-malt and do me some writin'
