Movie Reccomendation
OK, I'm not normally one to proselytize, but I'm going to here. "The Other Guys" with Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg is some funny shit. If you liked Talladega Night, you'll like The Other Guys. If you didn't like Talladega Nights, why are you even here, man?

"I got a fever, and the only cure is.....
....more cow bell.I was at a yard sale last summer and found a drummers cow bell in the bottom of a box of junk, I had to have it. I purchased said bell for a dollar and took it to my garage and mounted it majestically above the tool box. So now, when I "have a fever', I can whack my cow bell.
I guess it's the little things in life that bring a smile to a persons face. I smile every time I whack that friggin' thing.

Movies made about us
This film was about an exciting adventure Vance and I had back in our late teens. We were at this wild party, and sure we were going to score. Then the girls told us we had to leave because they'd decided to become lesbians -- and we believed them.I think this is a partially true story, and involved Vance slamming against a curb and trashing the rims on his boss's wife's truck.
They just don't make movies with names like this any more.

Mary and Larry, the kids next door
Another perennial favorite was Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry for all the gear-heads in the 70's. "There's nothing they won't try" was the mantra of the 70's as we all remember. You had to dig this movie because "Easy Rider" Fonda was in it and he held a cult status in the 60's and 70's. Again, I have no idea what its about even though I saw this movie at least 3 times. Darn that 1974.Bobby and Rose
I saw this movie in 1975 at the drive-in with Lester Gary (owner of the 'Moonpie' Magical Mystery Van) with our girlfriends. I have no idea what the movie was about but I thought about the movie today for some reason. Hot cars, a 1968 Camero and hot chicks, what more did a movie need. I do remember that Lester and his woman were some how both sitting in the drivers seat through the whole movie.Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Speaking of being the shits, dig this.
One of the coolest actors ever was Steve McQueen, and one of the coolest movies, "the Great Escape," and one of the coolest scenes was when Steve McQueen jumped his bike over the barbed-wire fence.
Now, Steve McQueen’s most famous motorcycle has been recreated by the Rickman Brothers, legendary themselves within the moto fraternity. Just 300 examples of the Desert Racer will be built, by hand, and retailing for £13,000 (US$18,000) a pop. The gearbox and engine are period Triumph TR6, with a single Amal carb, set in a Mk III Métisse frame. Forks are 35mm Cerianis with over seven inches of travel: BSA yokes position the handlebar behind the steering stem for better control. Wheel rims and exhausts are chromed, and the rear shocks are authentic Girling reproductions. Delicious, despite what some might say.

I'd love to have this bike, though the chrome does seem a bit much. I guess once you mudded it up a bit it would look respectable.

The "dude" abides....
"Don't f... with Jesus." No, this is not a Proverb from the Bible, just one of a zillion great lines from this movie. The wife and I watched "The Big Lebowski" tonight and I was sure I must post this. I haven't watched the movie in over 8 years but it still holds up. Dude may be my alter-ego. But I'm finding as I get older, I'm more like the "stranger". Another month or so and my mustach will match the stangers. Hey, I have the cowboy hat, the vest and denim shirt with pearl buttons. "Be careful Dude."Monday, February 9, 2009
Constant sorrow
The little woman is on the way to work right now so we can go see my lawyer. Court is on Friday the 13th, what luck. Anyway, all should go well, but if you don't hear from me for a while, well .... My sister-in-law says I'll be fine because of my gift of gab and the ability to adapt. We'll see."I detect, like me, you're endowed with the gift of gab."---
